Unit Site Overview

bullet The clients had recently moved into the unit and wanted to remove large amounts of paving to provide more interest and reduce reflected heat to the unit.

bullet The clients enjoy gardening so required more garden area to get their hands into the soil. An informal style with water efficient, textural plants with interesting foliage and flower colour for year round appeal was required. Bird attracting plants were also included.
As the area is very small there is not a large distance between the unit and the fences. Fences will eventually be screened with shrubs and vines trained along horizontally trained wires. A small area of fence adjacent to the pergola area has been screened with a rendered wall.

bullet Several raised garden beds have provided a great assortment of seasonal vegetables and herbs. Herbs and columnar fruit trees have been planted to make use of a narrow service area.
