This recently completed house uses strong colour and
strong architectural elements to make quite a statement however with no
garden it was lacking some of its potential street appeal. The owners like
bold, structural and strappy plants and wanted foliage colours to complement
the house. The use of perfumed plants was also desired.
The main requirement was to increase street appeal. The
planting was required to provide some privacy from the street and
neighbouring driveway yet maintain the outlook over the park opposite. The
garden is able to be viewed from the front rooms so it must be interesting
from the house as well as the street.
The strong angles and shapes of the garden design
complement the sharp lines of the house whilst the organic shapes of the
plants soften the potentially harsh horizontals and verticals of the house.
